Recommended Math Web sites

  • Ask Dr. Math: A question and answer service for K-12 math students and their teachers. A search engine makes information available by grade level and topic. Frequently asked questions (FAQs) are listed by subject and grade, as well. Students can submit questions to Dr. Math by using a web form or by sending e-mail. Answers are sent back by e-mail. Links to other sites with challenging problems are also available.

  • Collections of K-12 Math Problems & Puzzles. From Swarthmore College.
  • Biographies of Women Mathematicians: Lists some of the countless achievements of women in the field of mathematics. In addition, the site includes biographies and photographs of most of the women mathematicians listed.
  • Aplusmath:  This web site was developed to help students improve their math skills interactively.
  • The Children's Museum of Indianapolis Web site has a number of fun activities involving science, math and technology.
  • Interactive Mathematics Miscellany and Puzzles: Games and Puzzles.
  • The Math League: "Build[s] student interest and confidence in mathematics while solve worthwhile problems."
  • The Exploratorium: Has over 500 interactive virtual math and science exhibits. In addition, professional development programs focused on teaching and learning are offered for teachers of grades K-12.

  • The Children's Museum of Indianapolis This web site has a number of fun activities involving science, math and technology.
  • Computers and Technology  is the official kids' portal for the U.S. government. It links to over 2,000 web pages from government agencies, schools, and educational organizations, all geared to the learning level and interest of kids.
  • Mrs. Cannon's Computer Lab is a web site that teaches computer basics and a variety academic skill builders. 
  • The Computer Clubhouse is an after-school learning environment where young people explore their own interests and become confident learners through the use of technology." Sections include: Member Web Pages, Clubhouse in Action and Cyber Arts at the Clubhouse.
  • The Boston Museum of Science now includes the former Boston Computer Museum. Look for interactive exhibits, computer history resources and downloadable educational materials. Their banner proclaims that kids will "learn about computers and have fun at the same time!"
